Did I mention that the big girls are Daisies?

Sarabeth and Emily are officially Girl Scouts!! They joined Daisy Troop #907 and have now turned into these big kids that go to a club meeting every Wednesday night. I think they look like they work at DQ. They are so proud of their uniforms. Sarabeth wore hers for like 2 whole days and over pajamas the first week. Emily was not sure she really wanted to do it at first. She said that it was fun but that she'd rather stay at home and play Wii with Daddy! Seriously? Is this really my kid. I'm a joiner. I have always been a joiner! Won't all my girls be too? Alas, maybe not.... She decide to join once she found out there were fun field trips and that the meetings are like a fun playdate with a snack! Speaking of which, I am in charge of snack for tomorrow night. So far they have earned the center of the Daisy and one petal. The also have visited a nursing home and earned a patch for the visit. Last week they earned one for manners when they had a special tea party and the week before that they earned one for jewelry making! I'll have to take new pics featuring the updated tunics loaded with new patches! We are currently knee deep in cookie sales. So far they have each sold 53 boxes! Another patch!

100th Day

Monday February 22nd was the 100th day of kindergarten for Emily and Sarabeth. I had this wild idea to bake 100 cupcakes. However, there are 115 Kindergarteners plus teachers and aids....so I made 125! It was a bake-a-thon!

Wednesday, February 3rd 2010. Today was Abby's 4th birthday. Bittersweet day for Mommy. My baby is growing up way too fast...It makes me sad. She is hilarious. She is the comic levity that brightens our days. She is stubborn. Sometimes I forget and think she is a Taurus like her Mama. She is sugar sweet. She'll hug you so long and tight you think she'll never let go. She never walks anywhere. She skips and dances everywhere. She marches to the beat of her own drum. She is a singer. Everyday there is a new song. How is it possible that she has such great pitch for a 4 year old? The other two don't. She is still a baby in so many ways. When the big girls hurt her feelings she is inconsolable. Her heart is simply broken. She loves everyone and everyone LOVES our Abby.
Today for the 2nd year in a row we shared her birthday party with our friends The Kelley's. Erin is also a baby sister of twins and she and Abby are 3 days apart. It is such a joy to celebrate two such special little girls together. Pictures soon. For now, I shall be melancholy a bit. 4 years ago tonight we became a party of five. Four years ago tonight our family stopped growing and our last baby was born. Our family became complete. People said we were nuts to have a 3rd one so close in age to Emily and Sarabeth. We thought it was a great idea. We never looked back. Never had a regret. She is a blessing and a gift. Mommy and Daddy love you so much Abigail Beverly. Don't ever stop hugging us soooooooooo tight. This morning after receiving a new baby doll, she named it Baby Abby. She said it was because she is not a baby anymore. My heart was so sad. I shall recover.
